ART MAKES THE WORLD A PRETTIER PLACE!
No, really, I'm sorry your computer died - did you get a chance to back it up? Otherwise (and if it's not your hard disk that gave up the ghost) you can buy an external disk casing, take out the old pc's hard disk and put it in there and run it as an external hard disk on your laptop - then everything will be there and you can transfer what you need to the laptop.
Following which you will have an external hard drive which you can use for regular backups!!!
